Wood pellets are made from compacted wood, often sawdust or other wood waste, pressed into a uniform, high-density pellet. The production process begins with wood preparation, where wood scraps or sawdust go through the steps of peeling, drying and crushing.
First, wood waste or sawdust is sorted and cleaned. They then go through a drying process to reduce moisture levels and ensure pellet quality.
Dried wood waste or sawdust is crushed into fine powder or small pieces. This step helps increase the surface area of the wood scraps, which makes the production of pellets more efficient.
Crushed wood material is pressed under high pressure in special pellet presses. As a result of pressing, small, dense and uniformly sized granules are formed.
Freshly made wood pellets are sent to a cooling system to prevent overheating. The granules are then packed in different packages, such as bags or larger containers, according to the customers' needs.
